Her face, did not haunt him, any longer

Day, by day,

His heart, grows stronger

Emerging, from grave

In darkness

Grounded, once again

The lighted, path before him

Come, this way

Stormy clouds, have lifted

The sky

He felt, at peace, much cleaner

Not dirty, tainted, obscene

The sun, itself, does greet him

As morning, replaces night

Still weary, bruised, and tender

Remnants, from vicious fight

Deep breaths, eyes closed, he, stands there

Absorbing all, that’s good

Soul aglow, like embers

He, steps proudly

From the mud.
